Last week, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick tweeted, “I would be honored to have Brett Farve as a backup. That will be amazing learning how to toy with defenses the way he did his whole career.”
That tweet set off another round of rumors about Favre’s return to football. Cook insists the rumors have no substance.
Favre, 41, is a former Southern Miss star who lives outside Hattiesburg. He threw for 2,509 yards, 11 touchdowns and 19 interceptions last season for the Minnesota Vikings while playing with a variety of injuries.
A three-time NFL MVP, Favre played 20 years in the league and holds a slew of records, including most passing yards (71,838), most touchdown passes (508) and most interceptions (336).
