According to Rosenhaus, he keeps the country’s richest, most popular sports league “running” smoothly.
“When it breaks down between the team and the player, the agent is there to pick up those pieces,” he tells Pelley.
According to Rosenhaus , he also keeps the peace between his manyclients and their teams.
“If a guy says ‘I want to be traded; I hate this team. I hate this coach.’ I say to the player, ‘Tell me, don’t tell the coach. I don’t want you to ruin your relationship with the team. Come to me.”
The upcoming interview sounds like something out of the Tom Cruise movie Jerry Maguire. TV viewers will get to listen as Rosenhaus earns his 3 percent commission on hundreds of millions of dollars worth of player deals. Among the Bob Sugar-like lines as he spars over the phone with NFL executives:
– “What you’re offering is just a joke…The concussion is a thing of the past-aaon top of that he has a new helmet!”
– “Come on, you’re killing me here.”
– “You’re taking a huge risk by letting me get off the phone, because when I get off the phone I am calling another team.”
Of course, Rosenhaus’ client Terrell Owens still doesn’t have a job. The NFL has somehow managed to survive. Check out a preview of Pelley’s Rosenhaus interview here.
