Bryant has been working out at the Saddlebrook Resort, getting ready for next month’s NFL combine, and he’s been watching the Bucs closely this past season.
The Bucs hold the third pick in the draft, and are in need of a top flight wide-receiver. Bryant told FOX 13’s Kevin O’Donnell during an exclusive interview that he would be excited to play with his friend Josh Freeman. The two competed against each other in the Big 12 Conference in 2008.
“I just know they need receivers and defensive players,” Bryant said. “Josh is a very great quarterback. He’s got a strong arm and he can read (defenses) real good. I just feel I can bring a lot to the table. I feel I can help him out in different areas.”
Spending the last month in the Tampa area, Bryant says he feels at home. His agent Eugene Parker thinks it may be Bryant’s fate to become a Buc.
“Dez seems to think there is some sort of destiny there,” Parker said. “We just have to wait and see about that.”
The ball is in the Bucs’ hands to make Bryant their prize catch come April.
