Holcomb said UPD could not go into any specifics involving the case.
UPD began its investigation shortly after UF received an anonymous letter postmarked from Canada in early June alleging Pouncey was offered and accepted $100,000 from the representative of a sports agent between the Dec. 5 SEC title game and the Jan. 1 Sugar Bowl.
UPD is working in conjunction with Florida compliance officials to investigate the claim. Florida Athletic Director Jeremy Foley said in a statement last month that there are no compliance issues for UF.
Pouncey called the charge “an absolutely ridiculous claim” in a statement released by his Gainesville attorney on July 21. In the statement, Pouncey said he cooperated in the investigation and answered all questions put to him.
Pouncey, a star center, was drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft by Pittsburgh in April and is now in camp with the Steelers.
